- Detailed information for each sheet, including average and peak moisture content, species, peel thickness, sort settings and other sheet-specific data are collected and stored by LightSORTTM.
- At unload time, a detailed summary of the LightSORTTM data -- including average moisture content and peak averages -- is tabulated for each stack. This information is passed to the LightMARKTM PC over a network connection, and a label for the stack is generated. The stack label includes all critical summary information, a color code diamond for grade, and a stack serial number that links the load back to the original LightSORTTM sheet-specific data.
- When veneer loads are fed into the dryer, stacks with matching or similar moisture content are grouped together. By matching the loads and reducing the variability of moisture content between stacks, dryer controller response is more stable and efficient. In addition, loads can be targeted to specific hotter or cooler regions of the dryer based on moisture content. This helps to balance any uneven heating patterns that may be present in the dryer, and enables you to capitalize on this potential drawback in a controlled and beneficial way.
- Passing barcode information into the dryer controller offers additional dryer control optimization, either through additional, tighter recipes, or through advanced, sheet-by-sheet feedforward control opportunities. And as dryer results become available, this data can be used to further fine-tune sorting parameters in the LightSORTTM .
